Pengertian Pendidikan Karakter Menurut Ahli

1.    Pendidikan Karakter Menurut Lickona

Secara sederhana, pendidikan karakter dapat didefinisikan sebagai segala usaha yang dapat dilakukan untuk mempengaruhi karakter siswa. Tetapi untuk mengetahui pengertian yang tepat, dapat dikemukakan di sini definisi pendidikan karakter yang disampaikan oleh Thomas Lickona. Lickona menyatakan bahwa pengertian pendidikan karakter adalah suatu usaha yang disengaja untuk membantu seseorang sehingga ia dapat memahami, memperhatikan, dan melakukan nilai-nilai etika yang inti.

2.  Pendidikan Karakter Menurut Suyanto

Suyanto (2009) mendefinisikan karakter sebagai cara berpikir dan berperilaku yang menjadi ciri khas tiap individu untuk hidup dan bekerja sama, baik dalam lingkup keluarga, masyarakat, bangsa, maupun  negara.

3.  Pendidikan Karakter Menurut Kertajaya

Karakter adalah ciri khas yang dimiliki oleh suatu benda atau individu. Ciri khas tersebut adalah asli dan mengakar pada kepribadian benda atau individu tersebut, serta merupakan “mesin” yang mendorong bagaimana seorang bertindak, bersikap, berucap, dan merespon sesuatu (Kertajaya, 2010).

4.  Pendidikan Karakter Menurut Kamus Psikologi

Menurut  kamus psikologi, karakter adalah kepribadian ditinjau dari titik tolak etis atau moral, misalnya kejujuran seseorang, dan biasanya berkaitan dengan sifat-sifat yang relatif tetap (Dali Gulo, 1982: p.29).

Ada 18 butir nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yaitu, Religius, Jujur, Toleransi, Disiplin, KerjaKeras, Kreatif, Mandiri, Demokratis, Rasa Ingin Tahu, Semangat Kebangsaan, Cinta tanah air, Menghargai prestasi, Bersahabat/komunikatif, Cinta Damai, Gemar membaca, Peduli lingkungan, Peduli sosial, Tanggung jawab.

The Definition of Character Education According to the Experts

1.      Character Education According to Lickona

Character education can be simply defined as the efforts that can be done for influencing student’s character. However, to understanding the exact definition can be stated about the character education that conveyed by Thomas Lickona. Lickona said that the definition of the character education is an about the character education that conveyed by Thomas Lickona. Lickona said that the definition of the character education is an intentional effort to help a person as he/she is able to understand, pay attention, and do the main ethic values.

2.      Character Education According to Suyanto

Suyanto (2009) defined the character as the way of thinking and acting as a characteristics of each individual to live and cooperate, whether in the family surrounding, society, nation, even country.

3.      Character Education According to Kertajaya

Character is a characteristic owned by a thing or individual. Those characteristic is an authentic and roots to the personality of a thing or individual, also as a “machine” that pushes how a person acts, behaves, says, and responds something.

4.      Character Education According to the Dictionary of  PsychologyAccording to the dictionary of psychology, character is a personality observed from ethical reference point and morality, such as person’s honesty and commonly relates to relatively constant characteristic (Dali Gulo, 1982: p29).

           

There are 18 points of character education values which are religious, honest, toleration, discipline, hard work, creative, autonomous, curiosity, the spirit of nationality, nationalist, honor the achievement, friendship/communicative, love peace, fond of reading, environmentalist, socialist, responsible.

Exercise 4-Text of Linguistics

Kata linguistik berasal dari bahasa latin lingua yang berarti ’bahasa’. Linguistik adalah ilmu tentang bahasa atau ilmu yang menjadikan bahasa sebagai objek kajiannya. Dalam bahasa Perancis ada tiga istilah untuk menyebut bahasa yaitu:

• Langue: suatu bahasa tertentu. 
• Langage: bahasa secara umum.
• Parole: bahasa dalam wujud yang nyata yaitu berupa ujaran.

Ilmu linguistik sering juga disebut linguistik umum (general linguistics). Artinya, ilmu linguistik tidak hanya mengkaji sebuah bahasa saja, melainkan mengkaji seluk beluk bahasa pada umumnya, yang dalam peristilahan Perancis disebut langage. Pakar linguistik disebut linguis. Bapak Linguistik modern adalah Ferdinand de Saussure (1857-1913). Bukunya tentang bahasa berjudul Course de Linguistique Generale yang diterbitkan pertama kali tahun 1916.

• Langue: a particular language

• Langage: language in General.

• Parole: language in forms that are in the form of real speech.

Linguistics often called General Linguistics (general linguistics). That is, the science of Linguistics not only examine a language alone, but rather examine the ins and outs of language in General, which in French is called langage terminology. Linguistic expertscalled linguists. The father of modern Linguistics was Ferdinand de Saussure (1857-1913). His book on language titled Course de Linguistique Generale, first published in 1916.
